About this Event
Biomimicry: Design for People + Planet
Biomimicry is a powerful tool for innovation, providing a new perspective for what’s even possible. In this talk, Michelle Graves will introduce biomimicry’s design framework and sustainability lens, and also share a few case studies. From the innovative design ideas submitted to the Biomimicry Youth Design and Global Design Challenges to the game changing companies competing for this year’s Ray of Hope Prize®, we’ll show how biomimicry is being used to solve some of the world's biggest sustainability challenges.

THIS WED. 9/2! Learn about biomimicry - or designs that mimic strategies in nature to create innovative solutions. We’ll show how biomimicry is being used to solve some of the world's biggest sustainability challenges in this talk with Michelle Graves, Director of the Global Design Challenge and Launchpad at the Biomimicry Institute. For example, learn how to study the structure of kangaroo legs to create comfortable running prosthetics, owl feathers to create faster & quieter trains, or mimic the strategies of desert organisms to design more efficient water management systems. Design thinking WITH nature, as nature has had billions of years to beta-test solutions. 🌿🦘🔬💧✨
